Exactly What are Affirmations?

We’ve been hearing about affirmations for a long time. I myself have been hearing about affirmations for as long as I can remember. I just assumed that I knew what affirmations were, but after attempting to do a little research, I found another rabbit hole to explore. Here’s what I have so far…

I can go along with that. Just for the record though, I have come up with my own definition to help me understand it better. Maybe it will help you too.

Affirmations — Things we say to ourselves to provoke and promote feelings, desires, goals, and possessions.

I’ve broken down the five areas or points of interest that I believe affirmations are used for mostly, besides religious purposes. Along with the points of interest, I have listed examples. Of course, the points of interest and examples are limitless, this is just a very short breakdown.

Material Possessions — Houses, cars, food, clothes, or anything else in the physical realm

Feelings — Happiness, accomplishment, abundance, pride, love for yourself, self respect, self esteem

Situations — To be in a relationship, wealth, to go on vacation, to be in a school, or in a particular job

Physical states — Sleeping, awake, relaxed, energized, meditation, work out

States of mind — success, entrepreneurial, peaceful, loving, joyful

It is believed and has been that using affirmations on a regular basis can be beneficial in helping you get what you want in life. Affirmations can be regarded as a tool to use during your lifetime here on Earth to create a more positive and joyful environment for yourself.

For some people, affirmations are already a way of life.

For myself, affirmations are becoming a way of life and I invite you to join me on my journey if you like.
